Having more in common with ikebana and Japanese gardens than dimestore aquarium ornaments, the Aquatic Plant Layout contest winners are mind-blowing knock-outs. Rather than the typical 'bottom of the lake' underwater scenes, these aquariums look like pristine forests that have been submerged to protect them from foot prints and errant bottle caps. It reminds me of a Miyazaki movie.
The photos are hosted by Aqua Forest Aquarium, who will build an underwater forest for those of us that are less ambitious. The robust technical documentation offered by Aqua Forest almost convinces you that construction of a masterpiece is possible.
