Beehive Pizza Oven

I love the simplicity of this terracotta pizza oven. After watching the video, I am certain that this is the way to cook pizza but I am stunned by the $2200 that it would take to get one shipped to my door. Though I tend to be frugal, it is not the price that I have a problem with, but the fact that it appears to roll on plastic wheels and the 'wood rack' is totally inadequate in construction and engineering. Good luck pushing your beehive from the gravel trap in which it is soon to be mired. The entire base is an afterthought while it should be beautiful, functional and wonderful.

I am not offended by high prices. Quality products that are built for the long haul should be lauded, purchased and protected over generations. Margins should be deservedly steep for those willing to sell fewer, better items. I am offended by cloaking low end discount store crap behind the Williams Sonoma brand and price tag.

The beehive is begging to be refined, over-engineered, hacked and re-envisioned with garden store raw materials. In other words, I will have a better pizza oven before summer ends.
