Amazing Look Inside the Olivetti Typewriter Factory (1966-1971)

Flickr user Margnac has posted an amazing collection of photos from the Olivetti typewriter factory during the late 60's and early 70's. As I do not read French, I am not sure of the history of the photos but the pictures themselves reveal a fascinating place.

In 1952, the Museum of Modern Art held an exhibition exclusively of Olivetti products called, Olivetti: Design in Industry. No longer manufacturing typewriters, Olivetti still designs relatively sleek looking office machinery though I would not hold my breath for another MoMa exhibition.

When will manufacturers learn that these overly complicated
control panels do not impress us? (click for big)
