Elephants Above the Earth

Get ready to meet Wursa, the amazing, balancing elephant!

According to the artist, this is what Wursa might be able to do if she was 18,000 km away from the surface of the earth, but I wonder if Wursa would be able to breathe up there. Would she even be able to stay contained within her own skin?

In any case, it's a fantastic taxidermic feat, by artist Daniel Firman, who typically presents "anonymous characters and objects from everyday life, in situations that seem to be in precarious equilibrium." (That's what I read on the wall of the Palais de Tokyo, where I saw Wursa today.)
