CERN x Boston Globe's Big Picture

Click for Big

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Boston Globe's Big Picture blog as a total and complete eyeball bug-out source of photographs. Satisfyingly, they document only the visually stunning news.

The CERN collider is clearly the most scientific looking object ever created. Given the cost, controversy, and public appetite for large scale science projects, I suspect this is the closest we will ever come to a Death Star-scale effort.

The bad news is that the world is about to be swallowed in a black hole. The good news is these well-equipped Telstar Logisitics-style fellows are prepared to extinguish the smoldering remains.
