Thoughts of kerosene-powered car camping jogged my memory to exhume the long lost suggested link from Dave about spiritburner.com:
If names like Primus,Optimus or Svea get your interest then you need to look into this site. Lots of photos and information about those old glittering brass stoves that burn with a jetliners roar and kerosene smell.A suggestion that should not have slipped through the cracks.
After a few minutes of spelunking the classic camp stove forums, a whole world of magnificent machines presents itself and one wonders how you have escaped the classic camp stove call. However, this budding fascination with camp stoves will not prepare you for Motoshi Makino's collection of vintage camping equipment. Prepare to freak out.
