A Cutaway Model DC-10

Cutaway DC-10

First Class

Economy Class

I saw this cutaway model of a United Airlines DC-10 recently at the Hiller Aviation Museum, and it made me swoon. I've always coveted those big aircraft models like the ones they used to have in travel agents' offices -- back in the days when we used to have travel agents. Today, many of the really big display models are made by a Fullerton, California-based company called Pacific Miniatures, and alas, they are not cheap. The cutaway versions are even more fabulous, and even more rare, so for now I suppose I'll just have to content myself with a bunch of photos.
