Disquietude of the Unfamiliar

Made out of discarded textiles, fabrics and cushions tied together with twine, Elizabeth Higgins O'Connor's looming seven-foot creatures are simply amazing.  Scaled just slightly above human size, her gang of menacing cartoon animals seems to be pacing around the room, powerful and yet on the verge of falling apart.

O'Connor's show "No Names" can currently be seen at the David Salow Gallery on the edge of Chinatown in Los Angeles.  It closes on February 28, so hurry!
