Sirens of Chrome: The Enduring Allure of Auto Show Models

From The Morning News:
The models each depicted a specific visual quality to enhance the car they were assigned to represent. The wardrobe ranged from Audrey Hepburn contemporary to Western cowgirl, New York sophisticate, Betty Crocker homemaker, and Marilyn Monroe lookalike.

Great interview (with slideshow) with the author of Sirens of Chrome at the Morning News.
