"No-Rod" Fishing Rod and Reel

From Lang's:

Rare "No-Rod - Patented - Trademark" Marked Rod and Reel Combo. With several features that mimic the 1909 filed patent of E.R. Gillette, this marked "No-Rod" features a cast rod, or frame, that houses a nickel plated reel, attaching at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. The bulbous handle opens to reveal a storage area, accessible by depressing a tiny button located at the end of the handle. Gillette, a resident of New York, NY, received the patent for his fishing appliance on Aug. 27, 1911 (patent number 1001195), for his compact fishing outfit.
